Let's Celebrate National Lighthouse Day!
Celebrated Every August 7th.
August 7th is National Lighthouse Day, a special daily holiday commemorating the 1789 Lighthouse Act that made the federal government responsible for building and maintaining lighthouses across America. While not officially a permanent holiday, it’s widely recognized by lighthouse organizations as a day to celebrate these vital beacons that have symbolized safety and guidance for ships navigating treacherous waters for centuries. Join me in honoring the historic importance of lighthouses and the ongoing efforts to preserve these shining sentinels of our shorelines.
