When I think of argyle, I think of socks. Did you know you can get argyle hats, sweaters, dresses, and even pants? Who would have known?
Argyle is a diamond-shaped pattern that overlaps with diagonal lines. This holiday was developed to help people brighten up the winter by wearing bright, fun colors.
A Few Argyle Facts...
- The design was developed in a country in western Scotland.
- The person who created it was from the tartan of Clan Campbell.
- Argyle was used in kilts and plaids and later in tartan hose.
- Prince Edward wore argyle socks to play golf.
- In the 1980s, argyle became a preppy fashion statement.
