Finding Joy In Daily Holidays. Let's Celebrate National Bird Day Celebrated Every January 5th.

 Let's Celebrate National Bird Day!

Celebrated annually every January 5th.

Today is National Bird Day. This day is set aside to raise awareness of the destructive bird trade and the cruel breeding mills where some birds are housed and to reduce the suffering of both wild and captive birds.

There are many ways to celebrate this day. I have chosen to share a few of my bird photos.

I had to look up the number of species of birds in the world. One site reported 11,000 different types of birds worldwide.

What Classifies Being a Bird?

  • Warm Blooded Vertebrates
  • Feathers
  • Hard Shelled Eggs
  • Hollow bones
I have always loved watching birds. As a kid, I remember lying on the ground watching huge flocks of birds. I would sneak out my dad's binoculars and watch the birds for hours.

If you can't think of a way to celebrate National Bird Day today, just pour yourself a beverage and watch Alfred Hitcocks The Birds.

Happy National Bird Day!
