  Let's Celebrate National Milk Day

Celebrated Every January 11th

National Milk Day was created to celebrate the day the first delivery of milk in glass bottles began.

A Few Milk Facts

  • The first milk deliveries in glass bottles were in 1878.
  • The US and Australia are the biggest milk producers.
  • Milk provides Calcium, potassium, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin A.
  • In the Middle Ages, milk was called White Liquor.

Ways to Celebrate National Milk Day

1-Make cheese

2-Enjoy a glass of milk

3-Make hot chocolate

4-Make a milk-based dessert or drink

5-Visit a local dairy

6-Go out for ice cream

What am I going to do for National Milk Day, you ask? I will enjoy a milkshake, which is a rare treat for me. I am also going to look for local dairies that allow visitors.  That would be fun.

My dad was a dairy farmer when I was very young.  I was too young to remember much about it, though.  I can also remember that we had milk delivered in glass bottles when I was a child.

Happy National Milk Day!
