Celebrated Every June 15th.

June 15th is Nature Photography Day, a special annual event dedicated to celebrating the stunning beauty of the natural world through the art of photography. Established by the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) in 2006, this day encourages us to pause, appreciate, and capture the wonders around us. Beyond simply enjoying nature’s beauty, Nature Photography Day also highlights how powerful images can inspire conservation and protect our environment for future generations.

A Few Photography Facts...

• The word photography originated in Greece and means drawing with light. 
• The worlds largest camera collection, 4500 cameras, is owned by Dilish Parekh from Mumbai.  
• Every two minutes we take more pictures then all of people did in the entirety of the 1800s.
• The first digital camera was invented in 1975 by Eastman Kodak.

A Few Ways to Celebrate Nature Photography Day...

1. Charge your camera.
2. Go to a local nursery and take photos.
3. Go to a lake or to the ocean and take photos.
4. Take photos at a local park or zoo.
5. Share your nature photos on social media.
