• The exact invention date of the hoagie is unknown, but it is thought to have originated in Philadelphia during World War I.
• It was thought to be invented by Italian American Immigrants working in a shipyard on Hog Island in Philly.
• The hoagie is usually served with various meats, cheeses, and veggies.
