A Few Pretzel Facts...

• Legend has it that in the Middle Ages, Catholic Monks did not want to waste leftover dough and started to form shapes with dough they had left over from making their bread. Thus, the idea of the pretzel began.
• Pretzels symbolize good fortune and spiritual fulfillment.
• The Monks in the Middle Ages would distribute pretzels to the poor, believing they would bring prosperity. 
• German immigrants introduced the pretzel to America in the 1700s.

A Few Ways to Celebrate National Pretzel Day...

1-Research the history of pretzels. 

2-Go out to a pretzel shop and try different types of pretzels.

3-Try making your own soft pretzels. 

4-Have a pretzel centered party and have different types of pretzels with dips and toppings.

How will I celebrate National Pretzel Day? I will go to the mall, where there is a pretzel shop, and try a couple of varieties.
