National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day is a day to celebrate not only 

peanut butter and jelly, but also the PB&J Sandwich

A Few Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Facts...

• The first recipe for a PB&J sandwich appeared in 1901 in a Boston Cooking School Magazine.
• Peter Pan and Skippy Peanut Butter were sold in the 1920s and 1930s.
• The PB&J sandwich became popular during WWII. Peanut butter was on the food ration list.
• Peanut Butter debuted in 1883 at the Chicago World's Fair.
• 94% of Americans have a jar of peanut butter in their home.

A Few Ways to Celebrate PB&J Day...

1. Make and enjoy a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
2. Pack a peanut butter and jelly lunch and go on a picnic.
3. Have a PB&J party and supply bread and different types of jelly and peanut butter.

How will I celebrate PB&J Day? I am going to make a PB&J sandwich.  I have not had one in a long time.
