A Few Bat Facts...

• Bats help keep the insect population down. Some bats can consume up to 1200 mosquitoes an hour.
• Some bats can consume their body weight in insects in one night.
• Bat droppings/guano are an excellent fertilizer.
• There are over 900 species of bats.
• Bats are the only mammals that can fly.
• Bats can live over 30 years.
• Bats can fly up to 60 mph.

A Few Ways to Celebrate Bat Appreciation Day...

1. Read about bats.
2. Watch a video on bats.
3. Sit outside in the early evening and watch for bats.
