National Broccoli Day is a day to recognize broccoli's many health benefits and,
of course, to enjoy it as the delicious food that it is.
A Few Broccoli Facts...
- Broccoli is an excellent source of fiber, calcium, and vitamins A, C, and K source.
- Broccoli was first introduced to America by Southern Italian immigrants.
- Broccoli became loved in the USA in the 1920s.
- George W. Bush was not a fan of broccoli and banned it from being served on Air Force One.
- The US is the 3rd largest broccoli producer, with China and India leading.
A Few Ways to Celebrate National Broccoli Day...
1-Make a broccoli dish and enjoy.
2-Read about broccoli.
3-If you have a garden, plant broccoli.
4-Go to a restaurant and order broccoli as a side dish.
How will I celebrate National Broccoli Day? I will microwave a bag of broccoli, which is always a staple in my freezer.
