National Flower Day occurs very close to the first day of spring.
It is a perfect day to celebrate the many beautiful flowers in our world.
A Few Flower Facts...
- Flowers are used in rituals, religion, and medicine and can be associated with romance.
- There are "flower vegetables," which means they produce flowers, such as broccoli, cauliflower, and artichokes.
- Tulips were more valuable than gold in Holland in the 1600s.
- The largest known flower is Titan Arums, which can reach 10 feet high and 3 feet wide and smells like decaying flesh. Yuck.
- Around 60% of fresh-cut flowers come from California.
- Flowers can hear bees and respond by producing sweeter nectar.
A Few Ways to Celebrate National Flower Day...

3-Buy some fresh flowers to put in your home.
4-Buy some flowers for a family member or friend.
5-Read poetry that talks about flowers.
6-Buy some lotions or soaps with a flower scent.
