January 28th is International Lego Day, a joyful daily holiday that celebrates the enduring creativity and innovation sparked by the simple yet iconic interlocking plastic bricks we all know and love. On this day, we commemorate the submission of the patent that forever changed the world of play and imagination. From childhood building blocks to complex architectural marvels, Legos have inspired generations to dream, design, and create without limits. A Few Lego Facts...

The Lego Blocks were created by Ole Kirk Christiansen in Billund, Denmark, in 1932.
Legos were first made of wood, but 1949 the first plastic brick was made.
In 2000, Legos were inducted into the Toy Hall of Fame and named "The Toy of the Century."
The world's tallest Lego tower stands at 114 feet.
In 1976, the Lego Minifigures were introduced.

2-Build a Lego set with family and friends.

3-Watch a Lego Movie.

4-Go to a Lego store and see what kits are available.

How will I celebrate International Lego Day? I never had Legos as a child, but I have put many Lego sets together with my grandchildren. I will get a new Lego set and put it together for Lego Day. It will be fun!
